冬天来了!这个季节里的白天更短、天气更冷,但这并不意味着我们无法专注于在这个季节充分保持健康。

- Check into your insurance benefits. Now is a good time to make sure you understand what your insurance offers. Your plan might have renewing deductibles and copays, as well as new additions that might offer just what you need. - Do your yearly checkups. Schedule an appointment as soon as you can to see your primary care physician (PCP) or family doctor for you and your family. Don’t forget to schedule appointments with the dentist, eye doctor and other specialties you need to stay healthy. There may be wait times, so it is best to schedule ahead.
- Get your annual vaccinations. We all face increased exposure to the flu in the winter. And it’s important to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine, too. If you have certain health conditions, the flu, COVID-19 and other viruses can lead to serious complications.

- Surround yourself with community. Talking and engaging with others in your community—whether at home, work, gym, church—can help you feel less isolated. If you are working on your recovery from drugs or alcohol—or have a loved one who is—community can help with your healing.
- Prepare for winter challenges. Stay warm, hydrated and mindful during the colder months. Dress in layers, drink plenty of water and watch for slippery surfaces on the road and sidewalks or wherever you may be. Know your local resource options. Build an emergency kit; it’s a great use of downtime.
- Stay active. The rain and snow shouldn’t keep you from moving your body. Take a walk or try something new like chair yoga or dancing in your living room. Even a simple daily stretch can help prevent injuries and keep you feeling your best. Be active but don’t overdo it— stick to what feels good or is recommended by your doctor or other health professional.
